About Carol
Carol Dochen is starting her 45th year in Austin real estate. She learned the business working side by side with mentor Irene Smith for a decade.
What drew Carol to real estate wasn’t the transactions. It was the people. She’ll tell you that for a time in any given deal, a family’s Realtor is as important to them as their doctor, their lawyer, or their therapist. Carol takes that seriously. Her business looks like a family tree; one client connecting to the next, stretching back decades, across families and neighborhoods.
Carol’s commitment to community is just as deeply rooted. For more than 20 years, she has contributed a portion from every closing to Foundation Communities and Habitat for Humanity at every closing. She helped fund the build of a tiny home at Community First Village and co-founded a nonprofit preschool that celebrated its 40th anniversary this year. She believes, simply, that everybody deserves a home.
The recognition has followed: nine Platinum Top 50 REALTOR® awards, 2017 Broker of the Year, Austin Business Journal top team honors, Austin Board of Realtors “Iconic Change-maker” award, and Austin Woman Magazine’s inaugural Businesswoman of the Year award. But Carol measures her career differently; by the clients who come back, and the ones who recommend her to their children, and even grandchildren.
What Our Clients Say
“First, Carol is warm and helpful in every way. With Carol’s help, we bought our house remotely. She gave us great guidance: “This house would be great for you. The neighborhood is good.” Her office staff was also supportive – picking up the key from the closing company; going out to the property when a workman was there. It also must be said that after so many years in the business, she knows the market very well. Carol knows her stuff.”
