Development in Northwest Austin began in the mid-1950s. The area is located north of RM 2222, following Lake Austin to the junction of Highway 620 and US-183. Much of the area is hilly, offering great views of the Texas Hill Country and distant views of Lake Austin and Lake Travis. The Balcones Canyon Land Preserve is located here, saving Austin’s Hill Country habitat.

Houses typically range from 1,800 to 5,000 square feet with just a few remaining home sites available for custom homes.

Northwest Austin has golf courses and attractions galore, as well as dozens of shopping, hotels and restaurant options.

Central Austin is one of the most desirable regions to live in due to its close proximity to some of the most popular attractions in Austin, including the Texas State Capitol and the famous Sixth Street, 2nd Street and Warehouse districts. Neighborhoods are diverse and range from downtown high-rise condos and apartments to century-old Victorian mansions and classic bungalows. Austin began in this area and it is rich with historic homes. Central Austin is home to the Dell Seton Medical Center, part of a health district in downtown Austin offering highly specialized doctors, training and research facilities.

It features everything from lush open green spaces to trendy shopping on the main street of South Congress (dubbed SoCo by locals) to music districts to quiet middle-class residential communities. West Austin/Westlake

West Austin/Westlake is located West of the Colorado River (Lake Austin) and marks the start of Texas Hill Country. The area’s closeness to nature makes it a highly desirable place to live. It features rolling hills, natural scenery and plenty of outdoor recreation options. Homes in this upscale area range from beautiful new subdivisions to older lakefront homes.

East Austin

East Austin is an older section of the city featuring a mix of historic homes and new construction.  

East Austin

Starting just east of downtown across Interstate 35, East Austin is an older section of the city featuring a mix of historic homes and new construction. Redevelopment in the area is ongoing with lots of Green Building, urban architecture and condominium projects. Mueller, a 711-acre Planned Unit Development in East Austin, features a broad range of homes plus places to shop, dine, jog, bike and play.

Greater North Austin

Greater North Austin

The Greater Austin North area includes popular communities like Cedar Park, Pflugerville, and Round Rock.

Cedar Park/Leander

Cedar Park and Leander are located northwest of Austin and are home to rolling hills, lovely subdivisions, great shopping. With close proximity to Austin and the Texas Hill Country, the area provides plenty of options for activities and events at venues such as the H-E-B Center, as well outdoor recreation at local green spaces like Brushy Creek Lake Park. A 157,000 square foot iSports Training and Performance Center, featuring indoor and outdoor facilities, is slated to break ground in Cedar Park in late 2018.

Round Rock

Round Rock was once a bedroom community to Austin but it is now one of the fastest growing area in Texas. Located in Round Rock is the Dell Diamond, home of the Round Rock Express baseball team, and many new and existing subdivisions and golf courses. Texas State University and Austin Community College are located here, along with retail establishments including Round Rock Premium Outlets.

Pflugerville

Pflugerville is located northeast of Austin and is one of the fastest growing regions in the metro area. The city retains a small town feel and features family-oriented activities, such as local skating rinks at Chaparrel Ice. The area also hosts festivals throughout the year, including Deutschen Pfest and the annual Bike Rodeo.

Onion Creek

Onion Creek is a golf community located 10 miles south of downtown Austin. It is home to Onion Creek Club, a golf club founded in 1974, with activities such as tennis, swimming, dining and events. Homes in the area range in size from 2,000-5,500 square feet, featuring everything from traditional homes to condos and townhouses. Nearby, McKinney Falls State Park includes options for camping, hiking, biking, swimming, fishing and more.

Dripping Springs

Dripping Springs is known as the Gateway to Texas Hill Country and features gorgeous rolling hills, with homes nestled between the valleys and creeks. Known for outstanding views of the natural countryside, the region is also home to a variety of outdoor activities, including Hamilton Pool, a natural water pool, and The Westcave Preserve, a limestone-walled canyon containing unusual and endangered plants.

Del Valle

Del Valle is located southeast of downtown Austin and is attractive for its easy access to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. The region hosts international music artists at Austin360 Amphitheater and world-class Formula 1 racing at Circuit of the Americas. It is also home to NLand, one of the only man-made surf parks in the U.S.
