South Austin

South Austin (78704) is where the slogan “Keep Austin Weird” originated. It features everything from lush open green spaces to trendy shopping on the main street of South Congress (dubbed SoCo by locals) to music districts to quiet middle-class residential communities. Homes in the area include upscale condos, apartments, bungalows dating back to the 1950s-1980s.

South Austin’s urban retail district is one of the most eclectic and lively restaurant, shopping and hotel areas in the city.
